Get ready to fill up your reusable shopping bags with fruits and veggies, Lexingtonians, because it’s farmers market season in the Bluegrass.

In the spirit of supporting all things local, we’ve rounded up six farmers markets in the Lexington area where you’ll find fresh food, live music, and local vendors.

Lexington Farmers Market Downtown at Tandy Park | Saturdays, year-round | 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

  • Features: Here you can shop 50+ vendors from over 30 central Kentucky counties offering fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers, meats, and baked goods.
  • Parking: Free on-street parking + surrounding parking garages
  • Space: Outdoors, under a pavilion
  • Special events: The holiday winter months bring festive fun around Thanksgiving and Christmas. Keep an eye out for the Cold Brew Festival in the summertime.

Note: From November to March, the market is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Southland Farmers Market

Lexington Farmers Market at Southland Drive | Sundays, seasonal | 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

  • Features: This laidback, easy-like-Sunday-morning market, features dozens of vendors with local seasonal produce. Bonus: It’s in the parking lot of various businesses that also serve the local produce on their menus and in their shops.
  • Parking: Available in the surrounding spaces and commercial lots
  • Space: Outdoor

Note: This market is open April-October with a hard sale start time at 10 a.m.

Lexington Farmers Market at Maxwell + Broadway | Tuesdays + Thursdays, seasonal | 7 a.m.-4 p.m.

  • Features: Located just on the edge of downtown, this market is the perfect place for a midday break. It offers the goodies you can find on the weekend, but be sure to get there before close in case they sell out.
  • Parking: Plenty of on-site parking
  • Space: Outdoor

Note: This market is open May-November and some vendors may sell out prior to the 4 p.m. closing time.

Lexington Farmers Market at Gardenside | Wednesdays, seasonal | 4-7 p.m.

  • Features: Take advantage of this midweek evening market for a truly fresh addition to your dinner plate with local produce, honey, chicken salad + more.
  • Parking: Available in the surrounding lots
  • Space: Outdoor

Note: This smaller community market is open June-September.

Golden Apple Fruit Market | Daily, seasonal | 8 a.m.-8 p.m.

  • Features: This indoor-outdoor farm stand features seasonal produce, jams, honey, and outdoor decor like hanging baskets of flowers, pumpkins, mums + more.
  • Parking: Surrounding the building and on-street parking along South Ashland
  • Space: Indoor and outdoor

Note: Conveniently located on the corner of Main Street + South Ashland, this farm stand brings up plants grown in Somerset and has a huge, colorful variety of mums, hanging baskets, and pumpkins.

Bluegrass Farmers Market | Tuesday + Saturday, seasonal | 2-5 p.m. + 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

  • Features: Shop from homegrown and home-produced vendors who sell only what they raise, grow, bake, and make themselves.
  • Parking: Available in surrounding parking lots
  • Space: Outdoor
