Battle Axes has officially opened at its new location near the Meadowthorpe neighborhood. The new 64,000-sqft. entertainment venue features axe throwing, go karts, zip lining, bowling, an arcade, inflatable bounce houses, a rage room, and craft beer. Swing by 164 Turner Commons Way this weekend to try it out. 🪓
A new coffee shop called Java Jukebox also opened up at 640 Maxwell St., Ste. 130. This new spot is open from 6:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. daily. Swing by to check out this new downtown java joint.

Wilson’s Grocery is closing its Greyline Station location. The owners said that they feel spread too thin with this location + would like to focus their efforts on the Cramer Avenue and Kenwick locations. Swing by to snag a sandwich before it officially closes its doors on Sun., July 31.

Three local companies — Black Soil KY, Pivot Brewing, + Moody Mike’s — are partnering up to host a new local vendor marketcalled SolHarvest. The market will be held at Pivot Brewing, 1400 Delaware Ave., on Sun., July 10 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. + will feature local vendors, activities, and a farm-to-table brunch. 🛍

The Triple Crown 5K is returning to Ashford Stud, 5095 Frankfort Rd., on Sat., Aug. 20. This road race takes runners through the rolling hills that house former Kentucky Derby winnersJustify + American Pharoah. Registration is $55 and all proceeds benefit the Woodford Humane Society. 👟

An update to the 2022-2023 UK men’s basketball schedule reveals which opponents the Cats will play at home + who they will face on the road. While still early, the schedule has the Cats hosting four top 25 ranked SEC teams at Rupp Arena.🏀(Lexington Herald-Leader)

B’Juiced — a smoothie and juice bar inside Greyline Station — announced that it will be moving to a new undisclosed location. We don’t have the details yet on where the new spot will be, but the owners said its new location should be opening around late August. We’ll keep you posted.

The US Airforce Concert Bandwill perform at UK on Thurs., July 7 at 7 p.m. at the Singletary Center. The event is free, but tickets are required + there is a four-ticket limit per order. 🎼 (UK NOW)

Editor’s pick: I absolutely love Chicago-style hotdogs. If I’m not snagging one from South of Wrigley, I’m making them for my family’s camping trips. They’re really easy to prep and definitely level-up a campfire hotdog. You can pre chop all of the ingredients, store them in the cooler, and then add them to your hotdog after you’ve roasted it over an open fire.
