In this town, brunchin’ ain’t easy but it’s necessary. Whether you’re on the hunt for fluffy eggs, fried chicken and waffles, or mind-blowing Bloody Marys, the options can get as overwhelming as the lines at times. 🍳

The Webb and Greer companies, who developed City Centre in downtown, announced plans tobuild a $60-million shopping center at the corner of Citation Boulevard and Georgetown Road called Citation Centre. Plan Ahead
A show so nice they’re doing it twice. The Burl announced a second date for The Dolly Disco, which will be here before you know it — Sat., Nov. 12 at 8 p.m. The other show is scheduled for Thurs., Jan. 19. Tickets for both shows are on sale today.
Kids
This October is actually TeenTober at the Lexington Public Library. Organized by the Young Adult Library Services Association, it will host free youth programming all month long. Teens can stop by their local branch for events such as dance workshops, blackout poetry, virtual reality roller coasters + more.
From Wed., Oct. 5-Wed., Nov. 2, the Castlewood Community Center will be hosting five-on-five pick-up basketball games for middle and high schoolers. Games will be played weekly on Wednesdays from 6-8 p.m. with a DJ playing music + giving commentary. Sign-ups are available the day of. 🏀
Watch
This season, the UK women’s basketball team will have 11 games broadcast on national television. When the Cats host the Cards at Rupp Arena on Dec. 11, the game will be televised on ESPN. The other ten games will be shown on the SEC Network. (LEX18)

It’s baseball time in the Bluegrass. Yep, you read that right. UK baseball announced it will host Marshall for an exhibition game on Sun., Oct. 9 at 1 p.m. at Kentucky Proud Park — admission is free. ⚾ (UK Athletics)
UK football punter Colin Goodfellow has been named a semifinalist for the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame’s 2022 William V. Campbell Trophy. The award recognizes individuals for their combined academic success, performance on the field, and exemplary leadership. Finalists will be announced Oct. 26. (UK Athletics)

Festival Latino de Lexington returns

Where: Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza, 120 N. Limestone
When: Friday, 5-11 p.m. + Saturday, 4-11 p.m.
What: A celebration of Latin American art and culture featuring live music, dancing, visual arts performances + delicious authentic foods. The weekend will also have informational booths + local artisans so visitors can shop, eat, and learn about the Hispanic culture in Lexington.
Watch for: Road closures on Short Street — from Limestone to Martin Luther King Blvd.
