  • Eckert’s Orchard will host its first-ever Peach Party and Vendor Fair on Saturday, July 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Venture to Versailles for live music, kids activities, tasty treats, and goodies from local boutiques — and don’t forget to purchase a peck of peaches.

  • Mayor Linda Gorton + LDG Development held a ribbon-cutting ceremony yesterday on a new affordable housing development. The Alcove at Russell, located at 750 Ward Dr. off Russell Cave Road, is a $46 million, 202-unit apartment complex with 1-3 bedroom options, on-site management, and a clubhouse.

  • 57. That’s how many first-round draft picks have come from the UK men’s basketball program since 1947 — the most out of any college program. We may see that number increase after Thursday’s NBA Draft where experts project Cason Wallace to be selected in the first round. (Lexington Herald-Leader)

  • Thanks to the UK Recycling’s Give and Go Donation Station Program, 12,338 lbs of reusable material was donated by students at the end of the school year.
