In case you missed it, the organizers behind Town Branch Park announced they have reached the Phase I fundraising goal of $39 million. Now, their efforts will shift toward construction.

“[Today] we begin preparing for park opening and transition our fundraising efforts to focus on programming, operations, maintenance, and sustainability,” Town Branch Park Executive Director Allison Lankford said.

Affectionately called “Lexington’s living room” by organizers, the ~11-acre green space will replace the concrete parking lot next to Central Bank Center with a permanent stage, amphitheater, children’s play areas, a water feature, dog park + more.

Be sure to follow Town Branch Park for updates, and stay tuned for an announcement on a public ground-breaking coming in a few weeks.
