Leslie Knope once said, “We need to remember what’s important in life. Friends, waffles, and work.” We couldn’t agree more.
In celebration of National Parks & Recreation Month, the city is teaming up with local businesses to release exclusive drinks + treats that commemorate in-season ingredients and the great outdoors (yes, waffles are involved).
Here’s what’s on the menu every Friday in July:
Maple, black walnut, and vanilla iced espresso + cocktail | Lussi Brown Coffee Bar, 114 Church St. | July 7
Pineapple, cherry + vanilla session mead | Myriad Meadery, 732 National Ave. | July 14

Other ways to celebrate
It wouldn’t be a parks + recreation party without the most obvious component. After you’ve grabbed one of the collaborative releases, head outside to one of many free events the city has planned for the month.

As someone that aspires (and has failed) to have a green thumb, I’m thrilled to announce that I kept some flowers alive. Please don’t ask about my jalapeño plants...you’ll probably see me at the Garden Guild event.
