Have you been missing some of your favorite childhood camp activities like archery and fishing? Or maybe you’ve needed the nudge to try something new?

Well, you have Lexington Parks & Recreation to thank for filling that void with its new Outdoor Programs schedule.

“Our goal is to showcase how easy it is to connect with nature, and how beneficial it is for your mind and body,” said Jennifer Meunier, Outdoor Programs Manager for Lexington Parks & Recreation. “Having more passive programs such as mindfulness and more active programs, like climbing and canoeing, show that no matter your interests, local parks can provide a great outlet for connecting with nature.”

Programming includes:
  • Archery
  • Backpacking
  • Canoeing
  • Fishing
  • Kayaking
  • Mindfulness walks
Start by trying out Rest & Reconnect Outdoors on Tuesday, July 18 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., where you can enjoy a short walk through McConnell Springs with moments of quiet every 15-20 minutes.

It’s my goal to check out at least three spots for Lexington Restaurant Week. So far I’ve booked reservations at Cole’s + Dudley’s. I’m still thinking about my third. Which restaurant is on your must-try list? Let me know.
