Spirited Lexington takes the complication out of cocktail crafting, providing every ingredient + tool you need to make your own creation.

When signing up for one of Spirited’s many classes, you’ll see countless options so you can have a carefully curated experience based on your preferences. We love that these events can be used for a variety of celebrations, such as bachelor + bachelorette parties, team-building activities, and date nights.

Cocktail o’clock

If you’re feeling intimidated, let us concoct a picture of what to expect so you don’t feel muddled when you walk into 249 E. Main St.

You’ll be greeted by Spirited Lexington’s well-versed + warm bartender Anthony Way, whose experience and passion for spirits come from his time on the West Coast and other areas of the world. Think of him as your spirits guide for ~ two hours (no ghosts included).

Stations come with all the ingredients and tools needed for your class, followed by simple step-by-step guidance that will have you thinking, “Yes, shaken not stirred, duh.”

Closing
  • The Ketch Seafood Grill has been sold after 28 years in operation. According to its Facebook page, unspecified investors have purchased the business + building and intend to transform them. Customers have until Monday, July 24 to get their seafood fix. (Lexington Herald-Leader)
Development
  • Newtown Pike is about to get even bigger. The area will now include a new Starbucks at 1433 Newtown Center Way, an Everhome Suites hotel, as well as other retailers + restaurants. The project will also see the road be expanded into six lanes, which will begin construction in 2024. (Lexington Herald-Leader)
Plan Ahead
  • The Elephant 6 Recording Company, a collective that includes iconic independent artists, will premier a documentary about the record label. Head to the Kentucky Theatre on Tuesday, Aug. 8. at 7:30 p.m. to watch the film and attend a Q&A with director + Elephant 6 co-founder Robert Schneider.

  • Peak Sales Recruiting has ranked Kentucky as the No. 8 state in the job market in the US. Taking into account our 2.7% employment growth, 6.7% job opening growth, and decreasing quit rate, the study found that the South’s job market has been on the uptick. (Lane Report)

  • It’s safe to say we’re deep in iced coffee season, and now there’s another reason to celebrate. The Cold Brew Coffee Festival will return to the downtown Lexington Farmer’s Market on Saturday, Aug. 19 + feature tastings, specialty drinks, and the option to vote for your favorite summery caffeinated beverage.

  • Crank + Boom is teaming up with DV8’s Kitchen’s Vocational Training Foundation — which offers second-chance employment for those in recovery — for the rest of the quarter. Now through Sunday, Oct. 1, two dollars from every pre-order of the ice cream store’s Small Batch Club will go towards the organization.
