If you have to go, you might as well do it in style. LEX may have not made the cut for Cintas’ annual America’s Best Restroom contest, but we won’t let our city’s best bathroom contenders go to waste. We flushed out six spots for you to vote for in our own contest — who will take the porcelain throne?

This venue’s bathroom is iconic for its serene lighting and unique wallpaper. Be sure to take a selfie in the distressed mirror.

The Blushery, 825 National Ave.
If you thought the frosé and floral walls of the shop were fun, wait until you see the soft pink and gold marbling in the bathroom.

East End Tap + Table, 333 E. Main St.
Step inside, and you’ll be greeted with the playful wallpaper that comes from the mind of Italian artist Piero Fornasetti.

From the lobby, head down the spiral staircase to the right. By hitting the button on the mirror, you’ll “call the mirror” in the neighboring bathroom to share a friendly wave. Best enjoyed with friends.

  • BoBi Cones, the sister shop of Crank + Boom, announced that it will close at the end of the month. The last day to snag soft serve at 3735 Palomar Centre Dr. is Thursday, Aug. 31.
Art
  • Submissions for PRHBTN 2023 are now open. The art exhibit highlights types of work “that have been criminalized, marginalized, and under-appreciated in the mainstream.” Applications are being accepted through Friday, Sept. 15.

What makes the ideal college campus? We think it falls somewhere in between having a rich history, quality education, and more often overlooked, an eye-catching campus.

Lucky for us, College Rover ranked Transylvania University as one of the most beautiful college campuses in the US — above institutions like Princeton.

College Rover’s identified its top 50 by compiling the number of times the word “beautiful” was mentioned in Yelp and TripAdvisor reviews, and then comparing that to the total number of reviews.
