City officials share tips for winter weather preparedness
Snow doubt about it, Lexington is ready for the winter weather.
With subzero temperatures and more snow on the way, Mayor Linda Gorton was joined by fellow public employees to lay out the city’s winter weather preparedness plan.
The city is encouraging Lexingtonians to stay off the roads during this time, and if you do have to go out, here are some helpful tips:
Contact Kentucky Utilities for downed power lines or Columbia Gas for suspected gas leaks
Call 311 if you see or know of someone in need of the city’s assistance
If you’re staying home + limiting time outside:
Let your faucets drip to prevent freezing
Protect your pets from the elements
