Let’s go for a dip, LEX. In case you haven’t noticed, Central Kentucky is experiencing an intense heat wave this week. We’re sharing some public pools and splash pads to help you cool off + beat the heat.
Aquatic centers
Our aquatic centers feature everything from diving boards and lap pools, to climbing walls and tall slides. All hours are Monday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. + Sunday, 12 p.m.-6 p.m. Child (15 + under) admission is $5 and adult admission is $7, or you can purchase a family or individual pool pass.

Splash pads and spraygrounds
If you’re looking for something a bit more shallow, a splash pad might be for you. These are typically made of concrete and have motion-detection to release streams of water + mist. Plus, they provide a safe way for the really young ones to cool off.

A study from financial technology company SmartAsset found that UK is among the “best overall valued schools” in Kentucky. Taking the average cost of scholarships + grants, overall tuition, student living costs, and student retention, UK was ranked No. 6 in the top 10, with Berea College coming out on top.
