Opening
  • We have some really cool brews. Tapster, the self-pour tasting room, is opening a location in The Square, across from Triangle Park. The space will offer bourbon, craft beer, wine, and cocktails, as well as host social events like trivia and karaoke. An opening date is TBA.

  • This week, the Lexington Urban County Council General Government advanced new regulations around digital billboards. According to the proposed Zoning Ordinance Text Amendment, digital billboards will only be allowed in certain business zones, must change every eight seconds, and cannot be within 2,500 ft of another digital billboard.   • Belle’s Cocktail House has been sold. Over the last 11 years, the bar was owned by Justin Thompson + Larry Redmon. According to a press release, the bar has been handed over to current General Manager Jason Curtsinger, who is part of the ownership group that will oversee daily operations.

  • The annual Roots & Heritage Festival returns to town today, Sept. 6-Sunday, Sept. 8. Head to the intersection of Third Street and Elm Tree Lane all weekend for family-friendly fun, including an African American Marketplace, the heritage parade, two stages with live entertainment, kids activities, and more.
