While the Keeneland Fall Meet is all about horse racing, placing bets + merriment, it’s also an opportunity to show off your best fall fits. We asked local boutiques to share some outfit inspo so you can put your best foot (and dress) forward this October.
First things first, take a peek at Fall Weather Outlook, October is giving clear, sunny, and cool-ish — at least starting next week. You know what that means: layers.
Ada & Lo In the words of Stefon, this Southland Drive boutique has everything. Think: Home decor, hostess gifts, accessories + of course, clothes.
Shop picks: “Our new Gretchen Scott dresses are the perfect blend of style and sophistication for Keeneland, featuring vibrant prints and flattering silhouettes. With their elegant yet comfortable designs, these dresses make it easy to look chic while enjoying a day at the races.” — Julie Head, Store Manager
Monkee’s of Lexington From shoes to dresses, this cute Clay Avenue shop has you covered (literally) from head to toe.
Shop picks: “Maxi dresses and tall boots are a Fall Meet staple for us at Monkee’s. We can’t get enough of this stunning Misa print paired with a neutral Dolce Vita boot you’ll be grabbing for all fall. Transition this look to cooler weather at night with a leather jacket.” — Eleanor Greer, Store Manager
Morton James While you’re strolling and shopping at The Summit at Fritz Farm, this local boutique is a must-visit. Pro tip: Always check the sale rack for hidden gems + follow along on its Instagram stories to see the latest additions to the store.
Shop picks: “Keeneland is always the best day but it’s also a long one, so we love finding beautiful dresses that not only look great, but are comfortable and versatile too. You can throw them on with boots, heels or sneakers and be ready for the races."— Halie Potter, Owner

If you hear music while strolling through Ashland, the Henry Clay Estate this week, that’s not a song stuck in your head — it’s actually an art exhibit.
Today through Sunday, Oct. 6, an immersive, solar-powered sound installation will be set up courtesy of acclaimed artist Craig Colorusso + LexArts.
“Sun Boxes” will see 20 solar panel-covered speakers scattered throughout the park to create a soundscape.
Each speaker, powered by the sun, will play a different looped guitar note. As the sun moves throughout the day, the loops will evolve creating a sound bath that flows between tranquil and energizing.
“We are thrilled to bring Craig Colorusso’s ‘Sun Boxes’ to Ashland,” said Executive Director Jim Clark. “This installation offers a serene and reflective experience, inviting visitors to engage with art in a deeply personal and sensory way. It’s a perfect match for the peaceful, historic grounds of Ashland.”
Don’t worry, we won’t judge if we see you lying in the park for a moment of zen — in fact, we’ll probably join you.
