🍓 A berry good time

If you just plum forgot, Central Kentucky boasts several farms where you can pick berries yourself this spring and summer. Depending on what’s in season, you’ll find strawberry, raspberry, blackberry, and blueberry fields.

This varies by farm, but according to the Kentucky Department of Agriculture, strawberries can be found from May through June. And just as the strawberry season winds down, blueberries and blackberries are available for picking during the later summer months.

Number

$4,000. That’s how much an ounce of gold is expected to cost in 2026. And since gold thrives in unstable markets, its rally appears far from over. Check out gold IRAs, which let you own physical gold while taking advantage of IRA tax breaks.*

Post of the Day

Two people in custom red, white, and blue Western outfits reading “BUCKIN” and “BANG” stand hand-in-hand at Beyoncé’s "Cowboy Carter Tour" in Chicago, with a lit stage behind them.
This ain’t Texas, ain’t no hold ‘em. Lexington-based artist Wylie Caudill and his partner didn’t show up underdressed to the two-night Beyoncé concert in Chicago last week. The epic hand-painted get ups were tailored to fit the “Cowboy Carter Tour” — complete with bolo ties and cowboy hats.

This isn’t Caudill’s first rodeo either. In 2024, he strutted the 150th Kentucky Derby red carpet sporting a painted seersucker suit and has created custom fits for Dan Wu, Lexington Fayette Urban County Vice Mayor + author and 2023 Kentucky Poet Laureate Silas House.

The Wrap

Wrap: Katie Molck
The closest I ever came to being a skateboarder was Avril Lavigne’s “Sk8er Boi” — so I guess you could call me poser. Despite my lack of kickflips and ollies, I still appreciate the pros. Check out this throwback photo from 1989 of Tony Hawk + Sean Mcsorley when they did a skate demo at Champs Entertainment Complex.
