Keeneland has joined the history books without having to host a single race. By partnering with Stable Recovery, a second-chance employment training program for men battling addiction, Keeneland has become the first racetrack in the country to house + employ members of the recovery community. The US National Science Foundation awarded The University of Kentucky nearly $914,000 in grant funding for a new research administration initiative launching this July. Key components of the program include mentorship for budding researchers, an in-person summit, and digital support materials. (The Lexington Times)

You can nominate local veterans to be featured on downtown street banners and in a digital exhibit this November in observance of Veteran’s Day. Applications must include proper documentation, and nominees should have a connection to Fayette County. (The Lexington Times)
