We all love to read here. That’s what you’re doing right now.
But for lots of people around the US and the world, reading is a privilege they are denied. Enter International Book Project (IBP), a Lexington-based nonprofit promoting literacy in underserved communities globally. Since its 1966 inception, IBP has donated over 7 million books to 167 different countries, empowering countless people in the process.
There are a few ways to get involved:
Got a bunch of old books lying around? You can bring them down to 1440 Delaware Ave. during opening hours. Make sure you check the rules and guidelines for book donations beforehand.
The nonprofit hosts a monthly book club and other events for like-minded folks to connect.
There is also an online portal for monetary donations.
