The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department will offer free flu shots on Wednesday, Oct. 1 from 3–6 p.m. Pro tip: Four convenient locations will be set up around the city.

The Lexington Police Department, Grace Baptist Church, and GreenHouse 17 will host the third annual Faith and Blue Event on Oct. 12, noon–2 p.m. Meet officers, see demos, enjoy food, and support a donation drive for GreenHouse 17 at 811 Bryan Avenue.

First Lady Britainy Beshear announced a $500,000 donation from the Kentucky Pediatric Cancer Research Trust Fund to the Markey Cancer Foundation, supporting pediatric cancer research and family services. Governor Andy Beshear proclaimed September Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. (ABC 36)
