A Lexington favorite returns to Ashland, The Henry Clay Estate, Thursday, Oct. 2-Sunday, Oct. 5 with artist Craig Colorusso’s Sun Boxes, a solar-powered art installation.
Twenty speakers will be placed across the grounds, each looping a guitar note that together form a Bb chord. As the loops overlap in different ways, the piece constantly shifts, creating a soundscape often described as soothing and energizing.
Pro tip: The art is free to explore, and the installation also coincides with special events like a West Sixth Brewery Pop-up and a yoga session, though registration is encouraged.
A historic Lexington restaurant is reopening as Millstone at 380 South Mill St. in Dudley Square. Opening in late October or early November, it will serve modern Kentucky flavors in a relaxed environment. Renovations include a new 1,130-sqft main dining room and an outdoor patio. Real Estate
Houston, we have a problem. Lexington’s famous “spaceship house” sold in under a minute. The round, quirky duplex on Mount Tabor Road, a local landmark since the 1980s, drew quick attention despite some wear. Salesman Andy Klunder flipped it, selling the property for $170,000. (LEX 18)
Sports
Dejeuner, a young female horse from a strong racing family, sold for $1 million — the highest price ever for a yearling filly — at Fasig-Tipton’s Lexington sale. She’s related to winners like French Champagne and comes from a line of top trotters, including champions French Wine and Bella Bellini. (Harness Racing News)
Drink
Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort has filled its nine millionth barrel of bourbon since Prohibition. A $1.2 billion expansion helped reach the milestone, but officials say their dedication to bourbon remains the same. The distillery, a favorite on Kentucky’s Bourbon Trail, celebrated its eight millionth barrel less than three years ago. (WKYT)

A great lightweight women’s sweater. Choose your favorite color (we’re eyeing navy and burgundy) and pair this basic top with jeans for an easy outfit this fall. Bonus: Some colors are 24% off.

I’m looking forward to combining the best of both worlds with VisitLEX’s new Pick Up Perks program — spending time maintaining Lexington’s impressive green spaces and more trips to my favorite coffee shops.
The coffee shops participating in the program include The Greenery, Third Street Stuff and Coffee, Leestown Coffee House, Kenwick Table, A Cup of Common Wealth, and North Lime Coffee and Donuts.
