Would you ride through the city glowing from head to wheels?

We get it — when the days get shorter, it can feel harder (and less safe) to get outside and enjoy Lexington’s streets.

That’s why the team behind Lex Glow Ride is on a mission to help people “Be Seen. Be Safe.” as Daylight Saving Time rolls in.

Enter: Lex Glow Ride, a family-friendly, community bike ride lighting up Coolavin Park this Friday, Nov. 7. (While the event has traditionally been held on Saturdays, this year it’s moving to Friday.)

Now celebrating its 5th anniversary, Glow Ride brings bikers, skaters, scooter enthusiasts, and roller skaters together to light up the night with bike lights and reflective gear. The fun starts at 5 p.m., with the ride beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Here’s what to expect:
  • Safety stations, including free tire checks
  • Helmet decorating and reflective gear giveaways
  • Youth and adult bikes to check out on a first-come basis
  • Food trucks, activities, and free hot chocolate
Now that the evenings are becoming darker earlier, Glow Ride invites Lexingtonians of all ages and experience levels to learn about bike and alternative transportation safety. Read: Helping everyone feel comfortable, confident, and safe while enjoying their community.

Trust us: You’ll want to grab a friend and join the ride. Don’t forget to wear your brightest lights, or pick up some reflective giveaways on-site.
See you at Glow Ride
