The City of Lexington is hosting a free competition for kids under 18 on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 9 a.m. Think: Ultimate field day meets turkey day — participants will compete by age group and distance for the chance to win a turkey.
Registration will be held from 9-9:30 a.m on race day, but waivers can be completed in advance at the Castlewood Community Center during normal operating hours.
As families across Lexington face food insecurity, Councilmember Amy Beasley is hosting a food drive Saturday, Nov. 15 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Chinoe Kroger. Donations of canned goods, soups, pastas, diapers, and hygiene products will benefit local schools in her district. (WKYT)
