We’ve made our list, checked it twice, now we’re ready to shop. If you want to keep your holiday spending local while browsing an array of gifts, check out these 15 holiday markets that prove there’s no place like Lexington for the holidays.

End of Fall Market, The Void Sake
As the countdown to Christmas gets shorter and your shopping list gets longer, this indoor market on Friday, Nov. 21 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. will offer a selection of local artisans and vendors selling giftable goods. Bonus: Sip and snack on handmade treats while you shop.

Holiday Market at Hamburg, Hamburg Pavilion
Stuff your stockings with gifts from local makers and artists. Creative Kentucky Makers will host this market with 60+ vendors on Sunday, Nov. 23 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

MixMas Market, The Manchester Reserve
Grab food and drinks while shopping local on Friday, Nov. 21 + Saturday, Nov. 22. Lexington Mercantile Co. hosts this shopping event showcasing gifts from local vendors, makers, and boutiques.

The Lexington Legends are stepping up to the plate to deliver an immersive, interactive holiday experience this season.

On select nights starting Nov. 21 through Jan. 4, the inaugural Legendary Festival of Lights will transform Legends Field into a winter wonderland with 1.5+ million twinkling lights, themed nights, and festive family fun.

Here are just a few events to look forward to:

  • Friday, Nov. 21 | Opening night
  • Thursday, Nov. 27 | Thanksgiving Eve celebration
  • Sunday, Nov. 30 + Dec. 7 | Paws + Claus (bring your pups)
  • Thursday, Dec. 11 | Ugly sweater night
  • Wednesday, Dec. 31 | New Year’s Eve celebration

Plus: Enjoy ballpark concessions, Thirsty Thursday specials, hot chocolate, a vendor village, photos with Santa, sponsored by Kentucky Utilities, and an illuminated Christmas Tree from UKFCU.

Events run 5-9 p.m. (weeknights) and 5-10 p.m. (Friday and Saturday).

Transit

Lextran proposed an idea for a new microtransit program, which will offer residents a more streamlined means of travel similar to Uber or Lyft. If approved, the pilot program would offer on-demand transportation in zoned areas using smaller vehicles. (FOX 56)

Community

Lexington has opened its new winter weather shelter on Versailles Road, offering overnight space and hot meals for people without housing. The seasonal site includes 216 beds and will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily through April 1, city officials said. (LEX 18)

Health

Golisano Children’s at UK is launching a Pediatric Critical Care Recovery Service to help kids recover after time in the PICU. The service will guide families through the physical, emotional, and social challenges that can follow a serious illness or injury, building on UK HealthCare’s long-standing adult program. (UKNOW)

Development

City officials are close to finalizing an $86.6 million deal for a new government center. Council members will take an initial vote today on partnering with the Lexington Opportunity Fund for the former BB&T bank location, with a $30 million initial cost and long-term lease that ends with city ownership. (Lexington Herald-Leader)

Cause

Kentucky Blood Center has launched the 38th annual Big Blue Crush blood drive, a friendly challenge with Tennessee’s MEDIC Regional Blood Center. Donors can give at KBC centers or mobile sites — including spots on UK’s campus. (ABC 36)

Concert

The Lexington Opera House will host Acoustic Jam 2025 on Tuesday, Dec. 9, featuring Chris Janson, The Band Perry, Kameron Marloweand others for an intimate, live performance. Tickets go on sale Friday, Nov. 21 at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster and the Central Bank Center box office.
