What to know
Parking | Not everyone has a bestie that will drop them off at the terminal at 3 a.m., but thankfully LEX has options. See rates for short-term, long-term, and valet parking.
TSA | According to TSA officials, it takes ~5 minutes to get through during off-peak hours and ~15 minutes during peak hours (which are around 6-9 a.m.).

Zim’s Cafe + The Thirsty Fox, located in the Old Fayette County Court House, announced it will be permanently closing. The cafe will continue service through the end of the year, Wednesday, Dec. 31.
Cause
To combat a holiday blood shortage, the Kentucky Blood Center is offering free movie tickets to eligible donors now through Wednesday, Dec. 31. Pro tip: Appointments are preferred, but KBC accepts walk-ins.

Saint Joseph Health has launched “Reserve a Spot,” an online tool that lets patients schedule emergency room visits in advance. Available at all seven locations, the feature aims to reduce wait times and give central Kentucky patients more flexibility in accessing emergency care. (FOX 56)

Lexington Mayor Linda Gorton proclaimed today “Wear Blue Day,” urging fans to sport blue and white in support of the University of Kentucky volleyball team as it heads to the NCAA Final Four to face Wisconsin in the national semifinals. (LEX 18)
State
Kentucky American Water customers will face higher bills after the Kentucky Public Service Commission moved forward with rate increase. A typical residential customer using 3,900 gallons per month will see an average rise of $6.82, or about 14%, bringing the bill to $50.90. The increase totals roughly $18.2 million. (ABC 36)
