News Notes

Civic

Lexington is changing up its snow response plan, according to Mayor Linda Gorton. The change comes after recent winter storms and alongside leadership changes within the city’s public works department. (ABC 36)

Development

Frankfort’s Buffalo Trace distillery may be expanding. State documents show plans for a new, ~$60 million entertainment facility that’s slated to begin development in mid-2026. The project received preliminary approval for economic incentives last week. (Lexington Herald-Leader)

Sports

UK’s men’s team beat Santa Clara on Friday in the first round of the NCAA men’s tournament, going on to play Iowa State over the weekend. UK’s women’s team took on James Madison on Saturday. View the updated men’s and women’s brackets to see how they fared.

Traffic

Lane closures are planned along KY 4 (New Circle Road) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. starting today and lasting through Thursday, March 26. The closures will occur in both northbound and southbound directions from Exit 15 to US 25.
