The Dunbar Community Center reopened yesterday following a two-phase renovation that began in 2023. The project included interior upgrades, new fitness + activity spaces, and exterior improvements. City leaders said the updates preserve the historic site while expanding community programming opportunities.

Dingbats Pizza has closed after less than two years on Jefferson Street, owner Brady Barlow said. Rise Up Pizza, led by chef Matty Evans and most recently operating as a food truck, will take over the space near Transylvania University. (Lexington Herald-Leader)

Mitch Barnhart will retire as University of Kentucky athletics director in June after nearly 25 years. President Eli Capilouto announced Barnhart will become the first executive-in-residence for the UK Sport and Workforce Initiative. Weather
As part of Severe Weather Awareness Week, Kentucky will conduct a statewide tornado drill at 10:07 a.m. today. Fayette County sirens will sound for about two minutes, and test alerts will be sent through weather radios and LexAlerts. Officials ask residents not to call 911 during the drill. (ABC 36)
