With the temperatures dropping, so might your motivation to get outside and get your heart pumping. To help you step out for some fresh air (and meet some fresh faces) we’re sharing five social running clubs that make the Bluegrass a great place to lace up.
A Running Start | Schedule varies by race | By running with this group, you are supporting those in recovery + people that come from challenging backgrounds by providing accountability and space to thrive. Check its Facebook page for times and locations.
Bluegrass Runners | Seasonal schedule varies | This club, better known as BGR, has been running in Central Kentucky for 50+ years. Join its Facebook Group for updates on local runs + find running buddies or race pacers.
Fleet Feet | Wednesdays | Runners can meet at the store at The Summit at Fritz Farm for a 5K-ish fun run, but also check the Facebook Group for other meetups added throughout the week.
John’s Striders — John’s Run/Walk Shop Running Club | Mondays-Thursdays + Saturdays | Depending on the day, runs start from one of three shop locations: Chevy Chase, Hamburg, or Palomar. All paces are welcome for group runs, stroller walks, and the free community 5Ks held on the second Saturday of each month. Bonus: The shop also has John’s Central KY Trail Club.
West Sixth Run Club | Tuesdays | This social running group builds community by tackling 1.5-3 miles beginning + ending at the brewery.

Two former Wildcats will be joining the UK Sports Network’s basketball coverage — Jack “Goose” Givens + Cameron Mills. Liberty Elementary students received 700 Lunchables from the popular lunch brand thanks to this viral comedic video(with 43,000 views) from longtime Fayette County Public Schools educator Gerry Brooks. A rep from Zeno Group, the PR firm for Lunchables, sent the meal kits so students can “practice opening and enjoy for lunch.” (Lexington Herald-Leader)

But, there’s a new kid on the block — FEED + SUPPLY.
Located at 8675 Tates Creek Rd., FEED + SUPPLY is part general store, deli, and event space. “It combines all my loves — food, celebrating, and design — all under one roof,” said owner Ryan Dawson.
Ryan daydreamed about the vacant building for a while + bought it sight unseen. “As soon as I walked in, I saw what it is now clearly in my head,” he said.
Shop: Get your staples but mixed with gourmet groceries, gifts like charcuterie boards, cool candles + antiques.
Eat: The deli has grab n’ go lunch and breakfast + limited seating for in-house dining.
Celebrate: A handmade farm table that seats 20, is beautifully situated in the back ready for your customized event.
The shop is slowly opening, so check back for an official announcement.
