Adventure Time will take you on an expedition through local parks to explore + support our ecosystems.
StoryWalk — Hear local folklore while you take a stroll.
The Adaptation Game — Meet and learn about creatures found in our parks.
Tree Huggers — Identify trees via their bark + leaves.

Earth Lab will help you tap into your inner scientist. Experiment with hands-on tools to learn more about solar power, geological mysteries, and the environment.
Geocaching – Learn about Lexington’s geology + improve your navigation skills.
Prism Pal – Make your own spectroscopes to solve the mystery behind rainbows.
Solar Snacks – Use the power of the sun to cook up a treat in a solar oven.

Follow your food from seed to table by helping plant a garden that’s good for you and the planet. Activities include:
Bug Friends & Foes – Learn about pollinators and pests + create a home for these beneficial bugs.

Wormy Wednesdays – Turn food scraps into nutrient-rich soil thanks to our wiggly earth-loving friends.

After 30+ years at 4053 Tates Creek Centre Dr., Ramsey’s announced it will be closing that location. The last day to dine in will be Thursday, June 22. Fret not — the new location, which will feature a drive-thru for takeout, is coming to 2751 Leestown Rd. soon. (Lexington Herald-Leader)

The Human Bean announced it will be opening a second location — 2644 Richmond Rd. — in July. In the meantime, you can head to the drive-thru coffee chain’s original location at 1946 Harrodsburg Rd. to sip on its menu offerings like smoothies, teas, and lattes.

$6.2 million. That’s how much the city, Veterans Affairs, and donors are spending on a transitional and veterans housing addition to The Hope Center. Ground was broken this week, and once completed in summer 2024, the addition will offer 72 new beds for those experiencing homelessness. (Lexington Herald-Leader)

Already missing that music festival feeling? Then head to the Kentucky Horse Park this weekend for the 2023 Spirit in the Bluegrass Music Fest. The lineup features musicians with local ties to newcomers ready to showcase their talents. Shows begin at 1 p.m. today and Saturday.
