Yesterday marked the beginning of #GivingTuesday, a global campaign that encourages generosity. This also marked the start of Smiley Pete + the Blue Grass Community Foundation’s (BGCF) Good Giving Challenge, which runs through Friday, Dec 1.
🌎 What is the GoodGiving Challenge?
Entering its 13th year, the GoodGiving Challenge has managed to help raised ~$20 million for Kentucky-based charities.
Each day is sponsored by various funds that are willing to match big dollars for our support. There are also daily prizes + challenges including Power Hour and Social Media Sweepstakes.
Organizations also receive toolkits, training sessions, and resources to promote their good work.

Santa’s arrival to The Summit at Fritz Farm was postponed last week after rain made for poor sleigh-riding conditions. Now, Santa will arrive via helicopter tonight from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to ring in a holiday celebration including live music, a petting zoo, and a chance to meet Buddy the Elf.

Anything off of this year’s Oprah’s Favorite Things list. We’re seeing: luxury flaky sea salt, all-weather boots, fleece robes, and a baked brie board.
I love that Lexington truly comes alive during the holidays and is chock full of stuff to do. As a former choir nerd, I’m particularly eager to attend my first Collage: A Holiday Spectacular concert at UK this Sunday.
