$1.08 million and $1.7 million. That’s the range of the top ten highest salaries at UK — aka one of LEX’s largest employers — according to reports from the Lexington Herald-Leader.
School administrators and athletics staff were among the highest paid employees at the school, but the majority of full-time roles held at UK include professors, research specialists, healthcare workers, and administrators.

The average salary of all UK employees is $79,548 and a median salary of $61,465, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader.
In 2025, all eligible UK and UK HealthCare employees received a 1.5% pay raise, with a minimum increase of $750, according to a message from President Eli Capilouto.

Food truck favorite Moody Mike’s is making the move to brick-and-mortar. The vegan eatery, which typically operates out of its iconic bus at local businesses, will will set up shop at 802 N. Limestone, with the hope of opening in March. We’ll update you as we learn more.

The Fund for Greater Lexington is accepting development proposals for Kelley’s Landing. The 30-acre riverfront park will feature space for outdoor recreation and increased accessibility to the Kentucky River. Consulting firms are invited to submit plans until Friday, Jan. 26 at 11:59 p.m.

Baptist Health Hamburg
A portion of the 330,000+ sqft outpatient care campus along Polo Club Boulevard is set to open this April, including its emergency room and outpatient surgery center.
Marksbury Lexington Public Library
The two-story, 30,000-sqft library located at 2185 Versailles Rd. is expected to welcome Lexingtonians this fall. The $17 million project will feature an outdoor reading area, a makerspace, and dedicated classrooms.
Lexington Sporting Club Complex
Our soccer team’s new $82 million home is expected to be completed in late 2024. The stadium + youth soccer field complex will be located just off of I-75 along Athens-Boonesboro Road — making it a focal point for out-of-towners.
