American Trust Wealth (ATW) is making big moves. ICYMI, the firm recently opened a new office (2525 Harrodsburg Rd., Ste. 300) to help improve the customer experience.
The importance of this new space? Face-to-face interactions between their team of fiduciary investment advisors and customers. While investing can be done digitally, ATW sees the importance of also having in-person interactions with customers while advising them.
Over the weekend, a center focused on providing resources for children with autism + their caretakers, opened at 2464 Fortune Dr., Ste. 195. BlueSprig uses applied behavior analysis therapy to guide children as they adopt important life and social skills in a safe, structured environment.
Edu
UK’s Board of Trustees voted to dissolve the university senate last week, meaning it will no longer be in charge of making policies. Instead, it will assume an advisory faculty role. President Eli Capilouto said this would help students and staff be more involved in the decision-making process. (Lexington Herald-Leader)
Transit
LexTran is setting aside $75,000 of its 2025 fiscal year budget to learn more about how LEX uses public transportation. Specifically, the money will be going toward studying microtransit, which would offer on-demand transportation for the public. The effort was supported by BUILD, a congregation of Lexingtonians focused on making the city more equitable. (WKYT)

One of our favorite things about Lexington is how much it supports its small businesses. National Small Business Week takes place Sunday, April 28-Saturday, May 4, and we’re looking to you to help us celebrate the bizzes you love most.
How can you show your appreciation? It’s easy: Just fill out this three-question survey telling us your favorite small business and what makes it special.
We’ll start:
City Editor Aayat loves flipping through the vinyl and vintage clothes at POP’s Resale.
City Editor Molly loves all the health + fresh options at The Press Juice Bar.
Start thinking of those locally owned eateries, top spots for retail therapy, and service providers who go above + beyond. We’ll feature some of your shout outs during National Small Business Week, so keep ‘em coming.
All this talk about summertime has me more than ready for outdoor live music. Do you have any fun concerts planned in the next few months? Let me know.
