• Black Restaurant Week, where restaurants will serve up dishes featuring at least one Black Soil KY ingredient for $12, is on the foodie horizon. Browse the participating menus and loosen those belts from Monday, June 17-Sunday, June 23. We’re eyeing the Big Bayou Chicken Sandwich Tray from Genesis Coffee House + Eatery.

• The USL Super League announced it will live stream games on Peacock. The Division One professional women’s soccer league will kick off its inaugural season Saturday, Aug. 17, and you can catch Lexington SC on Sunday, Aug. 25 as they take on Carolina Ascent FC.

• Lex Grow Trees has awarded nine organizations with grants to help expand our tree canopy. The grant money totaled $491,131.55 for this first round and will go toward planting trees + hosting community events that bolster conversation around our environment. Applications for the second round of funding will be available this fall.

• Julietta Market’s The Market Kitchen will host a Paint and Sip night to benefit On The Move Art Studio. Tickets for the event on Wednesday, June 19 include a canvas, paint + supplies, and a Juneteenth-inspired lesson taught by a professional artist.

• Calling all bookworms. Joseph-Beth will host a summer reading bingo challenge. Pick up your bingo sheet in-store, and, once completed, drop it off for a chance to win a $25 gift card. Winners will be drawn monthly until Tuesday, Aug. 20.
