The history of National Bourbon Day
How do you like your bourbon served? | Photo courtesy of Victor Sizemore
In honor of today being National Bourbon Day, we decided to round up some of our favorite spots to sip on our crown jewel:
The Bluegrass Tavern, 115 Cheapside
Bourbon on Rye, 115 W. Main St.
Distilled, 157 Jefferson St.
The Elkhorn Tavern, 1210 Manchster St.
Fresh Bourbon Distillery, 377 E. Main St., Ste. 100
And if you’re looking for some bourbon cocktails, our readers have you covered with their own recommendations:
“I work as a bartender at Georgie’s Social House, and we’ve got a Presidential, which is our riff on an old fashioned. It’s easily one of our most popular cocktails that features a blend of Buffalo Trace and Applejack brandy as its spirit base, maple syrup, and a mix of orange and black walnut bitters!” — Megan C.
Do you have a bourbon lover in your life? Gift this Box Of Bourbon from Adams Apple Co. for National Bourbon day. The set includes a marinade and grilling sauce, made ready for a barbecue.
