Curious about injectables or microneedling? Wondering if laser treatments could a the game-changer for your skin?
With so many aesthetic treatments out there, it can be tricky to navigate what’s best for you + your skin. We got the scoop on the latest advancements and insider tips on choosing the right treatments from the experts at Golden Aesthetic Atelier. Here’s what they had to say:
Q: What should I check for when booking an appointment?
A: Always see a medical professional. Go to providers with certifications for the treatments they’re providing. You might not be able to find credentials online beforehand, but you can always ask the provider if they have them. Pro tip: Don’t forget to ask about continued education since this industry is always changing + growing.
Q: When should I start thinking about laser treatments/facials?
A: Everyone is different. Some could start as early as their mid-twenties, depending on their skin texture, lifestyle, genetics, muscle activation, etc. Others can wait longer.
You should at least be doing something to support healthy skin and anti-aging by 30. It’s much better to prevent the signs of aging rather than come to us and try to reverse the signs. Facials, lasers, microneedle, skincare + SPF are all great examples of treatments that can be used sooner rather than later.
Q: How long before a big event should you get botox/filler?
A: The tox golden rule is two weeks for full results, but we recommend four weeks before an event to plan for any touch-ups or refinements so that it’s perfect. For filler, at least three weeks so that all swelling and bruising is undetectable.
Q: Is Botox actually an effective treatment for migraines?
A: It is. However, we recommend seeing a neurologist or similar for those treatments. Cosmetic providers realistically should not offer that service.
Q: What new tech are you most excited about?
A: We wait for new products + technologies to be out for a period of time before bringing on anything new. We want to see the evidence that supports its benefits first. It’s not new per se, but we are excited to see supporting studies for PRF and bio-stimulators like Radiesse + Sculptra.
