The Lexington Theatre Company is bringing “42nd Street” back to the Lexington Opera House from Thursday, July 10 to Sunday, July 13 to celebrate a decade of professional-grade productions in Lexington. The City of Lexington is also participating by temporarily renaming a portion of Short Street to 42nd Street.

Speaking of live shows, a Danville production of “Shrek the Musical” translated to American Sign Language is coming to the West T. Hill Community Theatre later this month. Rather than being stationed offstage, ASL interpreters are fully integrated into this performance, incorporating ASL into the choreography. Get tickets. (LEX18)

While the brick-and-mortar location for Spark Community Cafe has closed its doors after six years in downtown Versailles, the mission is ongoing. The nonprofit is pausing operations to work with community organizations and find a new kitchen, but plans to reopen and serve more meals to food-insecure households this September. (WKYT)
