News Notes

Mansion Monday

I’ve been eyeing the construction on the corner of Kastle Road and Cooper Drive — and this 6-bedroom, 6-bath custom home is worth the attention. With a finished basement, custom fireplace, and private guest suite, it’s just a minute from Kroger Field and ready for modern living.

Cause

Lexington’s Stable Recovery now offers a women’s horsemanship program at Spy Coast Farm, giving participants the chance to work with top sport horse professionals while continuing their recovery journey. (WKYT)

Watch

“Scream 7,” “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie,” and “Avengers: Doomsday.” Those are three of Rotten Tomatoes’ most anticipated movies expected in 2026. If you need something to watch in the meantime, we recommend these films with ties to Lexington.

Outdoors

Travel + Leisure named Cumberland Falls state Resort Park the best in Kentucky, thanks to its waterfalls, moonbows, and rafting. Want a taste of that natural beauty closer to home? Our local parks have plenty of space to hike, picnic, and explore.

Eat

Taylor Swift is making a lot of bread. The showgirl revealed she likes to mix Funfetti into her sourdough, so Pillsbury joined the party and released a limited-edition Funfetti sourdough mix. Or, you can create your own sourdough fun by grabbing a loaf at a local bakery. (TODAY)

Fun Fact

Burgoo — a delicious, meaty soup staple found on menus around the city — was once made from blackbirds and squirrels. Thankfully, today’s version uses beef, chicken, or pork. And with Keeneland season kicking off Friday, Oct. 3, there’s no better time to dig into a bowl.

Finance

This versatile card has quickly become a favorite for many. With no annual fee, 0% intro APR on purchases and balance transfers into 2026, and up to 5% cash back on everyday purchases, it’s easy to see why it stands out. Explore the perks.*

The Wrap

I went to Lexington Parks & Recreation’s monthly Yappy Hour for the first time this week and had a blast. I’m already planning to go back — next month’s event is a Howl-o-ween party at Jacobson Park. Expect a costume contest, food trucks, drinks, and live music.
