Mefford Contracting, among other collaborators, will lead construction of The Railyard, a 32-unit mixed-use project on Delaware Avenue. The development will convert a former industrial site into walkable housing and commercial space for middle-income residents, breaking ground this October.

Nonprofits can now apply for Lexington-Fayette County’s capital grants, with $602,000 available to support facility upgrades, equipment, and technology. Applications opened Sept. 3 and close Oct. 7. Awards prioritize agencies serving low-income or underserved residents.

The Hope Center has officially opened the Quantrell Jones Center, a new transitional housing facility with 72 beds, including 32 designated for homeless veterans, aimed at providing shelter and supportive resources to help them achieve permanent housing. (WKYT)
