There’s been a slight chill in the air lately, which can only mean one thing — UK sports are about to take center stage in Lexington.

As we look forward to fresh faces on the courts, fields, and sidelines, let’s refresh on some key details + dates.

Basketball

The 2024-2025 UK men’s basketball team schedule was released this week, with new Head Coach Mark Pope hosting former head coach John Calipari + the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday, Feb. 1. The women’s team, also in its first year with Head Coach Kenny Brooks, just revealed their schedule. Key dates:

  • Friday, Oct. 11, Big Blue Madness
  • Friday, Oct. 18, Blue-White Preseason Exhibition

Football

Head Coach Mark Stoops is beginning his 12th season leading the Wildcats, making him the most seasoned active head coach in the SEC + sixth longest-termed in the NCAA. Key dates:

  • Saturday, Aug. 31, First game of the season
  • Saturday, Nov. 30, Governors Cup vs. Louisville
