The Twelve Lions Film Festival makes a home for Lexington cinephiles

The festival, which runs from Thursday, Sept. 26 to Sunday, Sept. 29, will feature Q&As with filmmakers, panel discussions, and workshops for aspiring movie buffs.

Grab your popcorn before the credits roll — The Twelve Lions Film Festival returns to Lexington next week, bringing 60+ independent films, workshops, and panel discussions for a Blockbuster weekend.

Pro tip: All events take place at The Kentucky Theatre unless noted.

Thursday, Sept. 26

  • Welcome to Twelve Lions Film Festival, 7:15 p.m.
  • Screening of “The First Omen,” 7:30 p.m.
  • Q&A with “The First Omen” Director and Lexingtonian Arkasha Stevenson, 9:30 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 27

  • Production Design/Studio Workshop, 9-10:15 a.m. | LEX Studios
  • Canon Equipment Hands-on Workshop, 10:30-11:45 a.m. | LEX Studios
  • Coffee + Donuts with Filmmakers, 11 a.m.-12 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 28

  • Panel Discussion: Filmmaking in Kentucky, 10:30-11:15 a.m.
  • Workshop: “Arkasha Stevenson - What I Wish Someone Had Told Me in Film School,” 11-11:45 a.m.
