The Tahlsound Concert Series kicks off its new season on Sunday, April 26 at 5 p.m. on the lawn behind the Oleika Temple at 302 Southland Drive. The “celebration of women songwriters” features Abby Hamilton, Girl Tones, and Emily Jamerson, and takes place on the last Sunday of each month from April through August. In addition to tunes, kid-friendly activities, food vendors, and a festival atmosphere round out the event.
Nicholasville native and rising country star Hamilton headlines. When not touring, Hamilton can often be found in residency at the Green Lantern, where she curates afternoon “Trash Bills” that feature artists from across the region.
Also appearing are rock duo Girl Tones — who’ve played with Cage the Elephant and earned comparisons to The White Stripes — and Jamerson — a singer-songwriter from Prestonsburg whose influences include John Prine and Emmylou Harris. Tickets are free, with donations encouraged.
