After years of anticipation, Tuk Tuk Snack Shop officially opens its doors today at 11 a.m.

In 2016, Chef Sam Fore started pop-up shop Tuk Tuk Sri Lankan Bites, allowing her to combine South Asian flavors inspired by her family’s recipes, as well as the Southern cuisine she grew up around.

As if that wasn’t impressive enough, she has also appeared on Food Network and earlier this year, became a 2023 James Beard Foundation Award Finalist for Best Chef: Southeast .

Now, she’s bringing all those flavors back home with a brick-and-mortar restaurant. Here’s just a sneak peak of some of the menu items:

  • Build-your-own rice bowls that can include protein bases like chicken curry, jackfruit, and meatballs
  • Curry chili ribs
  • Handheld items like The Duke , a grilled cheese with Seeni Sambol, a carmelized onion-based chutney

Try it for yourself at 124 Malabu Dr., Ste 110.
