It’s always sammy season — here are a few of our favorite deli spots around Lexington.

The Courtyard Deli, 351 Church Street

The Courtyard Deli is one of those special eateries that has a way of making Lexington still feel like a small town. The kind of place that — even if you know nothing about UK sports — you’ll leave knowing the score of the week’s biggest game. Lunch hour here is full of conversation + camaraderie.

Pro tip: The bean soup tastes just like your grandma used to make + the pies are homemade.

Stella’s, 143 Jefferson St.

A classic country-style spot serving up Kentucky favorites — Stella’s feels like you are stepping back in time. Something about sitting at the diner-style bar top on a spinning stool took us right down nostalgia lane.

Pro tip: Don’t sleep on the grilled pb+j or the tomato and artichoke bisque soup.
