New additions

Alan joins the Counter Clocks as a special adviser, eager to support the new owners. “We’ve got a new mantra here in the office, and it’s three words — credibility, integrity, and aspiration,” he said.
Credibility | “We want the public to know that what we say, is what we’re going to do. They can trust us.”
Integrity | “We’re gonna do everything with integrity by telling the truth + being completely honest with our fans.”
Aspiration | “We’re going to aspire to get back to what the fans in Lexington remembered.”
Alan added that this season will be one of growth + a work in progress, but they are committed to making it the best fan experience possible.

We’re pleased to announce that “Rebirth” by Chelsie K. is the winner of our 2023 poetry contest.
This poem received the most votes from our audience. A big round of applause to our other finalists and everyone who participated in our contest — it was a true joy for the LEXtoday Editorial team to read what you came up with.
Now, we’re handing it over to Cheslie to dazzle us with their creation.

Severe storms in early March
put the spring spirit through a wood chipper,
turning it into mulch.
500 tons of leftover debris
and all the fun in between.
Passover begins at sundown.
Don’t miss this chance.
Look up at the sky after midnight
to glimpse the Pink Moon.
Talk to someone
about the art of bird-watching,
baby bunnies, lambs,
Jesus. Be honest.
Joke about everything.
This is the first step, the pathway
for life
Farewell for a few days, Lexingtonians. I’m headed to Asheville for a long weekend with some friends and we were able to plan our whole trip thanks to our sister publication AVLtoday. I will admit though, I’m a little sad to be missing opening weekend for the Counter Clocks. Ziggy + I will for sure be at the next Thursday home game.
