If you’ve ever tried grabbing a bite on a weeknightin Lexington, you might have wound up disappointed — and hungry. There’s nothing like seeing a closed signat your favorite local spot to put a damper on your dinner plans.

The Living Arts & Science Center has a new series of adult classes called the Brunch Club Series. The sessions will include mocktail and brunch making, followed by an arts activity such as “Paloma and Painting” + “Classic Mimosa and Ceramic Mugs.” Classes range from $70 to $95.

While you’re busy planning for kids going back to school, Lexington Children’s Museum already has you covered for those days when they are out. Registration is open for School Year Camps for kids in kindergarten through fifth grade. The educational camps include hands-on arts, humanities, and STEM activities.

Did you know, that August is Black Philanthropy Month? The Blue Grass Community Foundation is celebrating with its inaugural Lexington Black Philanthropy Week, Monday, Aug. 19-Friday, Aug. 23. Mark your calendars + bookmark this page, because tickets for the 2024 Keeneland Fall Meet go on sale Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 9 a.m. The Meet will take place Friday, Oct. 4-Saturday, Oct. 26, with no racing on Mondays or Tuesdays.

In its seventh year, Art by Nature is citywide celebration of Lexington’s local landscape. The program utilizes the creative work of local artists to highlight the beauty of our surroundings + native plants to encourage environmental stewardship.
My fur child is turning three on Sunday and I am unwell. We’ll be spending all day celebrating Ziggy — starting off with a pup cup at Leestown Coffee + checking out a few more favorite spots from our dog-friendly guide.
