Did you know we have the best care in the Commonwealth right in our backyard?
As an academic health system, UK HealthCare prides itself on offering Kentuckians the best possible care with state-of-the-art facilities, clinics, and expertise across the Commonwealth. Fun fact: It was ranked No. 1 as the Best Hospital in Kentucky by U.S. News & World Report for the ninth year in a row.
So, what exactly does that mean for Kentuckians? Here’s what sets UK HealthCare apart:
Specializing in specialties
UK HealthCare’s team of in-house specialists offers expert care in dozens of different specialties, including:
Cardiology
Nephrology
Orthopaedics
Neurology
And more
Bonus: UK HealthCare’s expertise isn’t limited to Lexingtonians. Their network of clinics and experts provides support for Kentuckians throughout the state.
A space for the littles
Designed just for kids, Kentucky Children’s Hospital is a nationally-ranked facility dedicated to providing personalized care for its smallest patients.
Children not only have medical needs that differ from adults, but they also require additional support and care. From kid-sized equipment to specialized programs, Kentucky Children’s Hospital caters to both the physical and emotional needs of children.
Innovative care
UK HealthCare’s on-site researchers make the treatments and technology of the future available sooner — potentially improving the outcome of a patient’s diagnosis. They also support state-wide care by writing medical protocols for the Bluegrass State.

There will be no waste collection services in Lexington today due to the Veterans Day holiday. Residents who typically receive Monday pickup will have their trash collected on Wednesday, Nov. 13. Businesses will also receive waste collection on a modified schedule this week.

Thank you for your service. Veterans Day is a federal holiday commemorating people who have served in the United States Armed Forces.
Today, the community is invited to join Mayor Linda Gorton + representatives of American Legion Post 8 and Post 132 at Veterans Park at 10 a.m. for a rededication ceremony + livestream of the city’s World War I monument — 100 years after its original dedication. Want more ways to honor local veterans? Here are some ideas:
Explore local art: Lexington has many displays honoring veterans, including the recently installed Veterans Street Banners program on Vine Street. Veterans Park also has many displays, like the Kentucky Veterans Hall of Fame monument installed last year.
Volunteer: The city’s Veterans Affairs department supports many service organizations that offer opportunities where you can help veterans.
Support veteran-owned businesses: Use your dollars at companies operated by vets. Find businesses by exploring Commerce Lexington Inc.'s list or by checking out these businesses in Fayette County.
