You know what they say: A clean planet is a happy planet. Enter: Lexington’s Waste Reduction Week.

Today through Friday, Nov. 15, Lexingtonians are encouraged to reduce waste, rethink how we use everyday products, and prioritize reusing whenever possible.

While recycling is important, focusing on reducing and reusing first can make an impact in minimizing waste and conserving resources. Think: Bring a reusable cup to your coffee shop or reusable bags to the grocery store.

In partnership with Lex Creative Reuse, Live Green Lexington will offer a series of hands-on workshops and interactive sessions designed to inspire mindful consumption.

Throughout the week, explore themes like:

  • E-waste | Get the details on how to properly recycle electronics
  • Food waste | Learn composting tips and tricks
  • Plastics | Find out what happens to recycled plastic from the Horse Capital of the World

Pro tip: Follow along on Instagram and Facebook for additional event details.
