The long-awaited opening of Lexington’s first Publix has finally arrived. The Florida-based grocery chain will open its doors today at 7 a.m. off of Citation Boulevard.

Here are a few fast facts about the space:
  • Located at 1952 Stockton Way
  • Open daily, 7 a.m.-10 p.m.
  • 46,000+ sqft, featuring 16 aisles with a separate spirits store next door
  • Home to 120+ associates, with ~30 of them moving to Lexington to help open the store
Bonus: Publix is headquartered in Lakeland, FL, home to one of our sister publications LALtoday. They have all the content you could want on Publix, including locals’ favorite “pub sub” orders and the positive work they do in the community.

Speaking of community impact, the grocery chain has founded a partnership with God’s Pantry Food Bank and has donated 170,000 pounds of produce since last year.

We’re celebrating false spring

Sun, is that you? If you’re anything like us, you’ve spent the past few days basking in the glow of that bright shining ball of light in the sky.

With temperatures ranging from mid 50s to mid 60s this week + next, we figured we’d share five fun ways to celebrate false spring.
  • Take a walk or hike at a local park.
  • Get some fresh air with your fur baby.
  • While you might still need a jacket, get epic skyline views at the rooftop bar, Lost Palm.
  • Meet new friends with a local running group.
  • Get your steps in while checking out dozens of murals around town.
And for when spring decides to fully commit, start planning ahead on where your first outdoor meal will be or find something fun to do with our March Plan Ahead.
