Every day, we write LEXtoday with one goal: to help you feel more connected to your city. And we’re not alone — our friends across the US, from Seattle to Tampa Bay, do the same for our 6AM City communities.

We believe in the power of local media to keep the community informed, engaged, and excited about where they live. That’s why our newsletter is and will remain free.

How do we make it sustainable?

We partner with national brands and some of Lexington’s best organizations + businesses that support our mission of bringing only good news to your inbox. But we also rely on reader support.

Three Lexington locals made their television debut last week, but not in a conventional Hollywood style. Tamara Davis, Pye Miller, and B.J. Hart — among four other Kentucky participants — were selected from more than 200,000 applicants to compete in “Squid Game: The Challenge” season two.

The games featured 456 players from around the world competing for the $4.56 million prize over three weeks in London. Unlike the original series, players in this version aren’t fighting to the death, but go through elimination-style rounds of kids’ games.

Davis shared her experience with the application process, travel, personal journey — and, of course, the games — with LEXtoday.

The Wrap

Do you remember this story? That was one of my favorite days “in the office.” Not only did I tell a local story for Bourbon Heritage Month, but I felt so proud to represent 6AM City, be a Lexingtonian, and publish that story for you. Readers like you inspire me to keep finding hyper-local, positive content, and if you love what I do, let me know through our giving campaign.
