Local media runs on you

Each day, we write the LEXtoday newsletter with one goal: to help you better connect with your community. And each day, our friends across the US, from Seattle to Tampa Bay, do the same.

Here at 6AM City, we know the value of investing in local media. It keeps neighbors connected and the community informed. We’re invested in improving how you experience Lexington, like what events to attend + the latest city initiatives and developments to keep an eye on — all in our free newsletter. How is that sustainable, you might ask?

We partner with national brands and some of Lexington’s best organizations + businesses that support our mission of bringing only good news to your inbox, but efforts don’t stop there. Over the next six days, we’re running a reader-driven campaign to help sustain the continuation of what we do best.

Southern Cookhouse & Bar | 844 Hays Blvd. | American
Southern Cookhouse & Bar opened in the former BLVD Grill location at BLVD Apartments on Hays Boulevard. Burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, pasta, and plenty of sides and apps — there’s something for the whole crew.

Bread and Roses Bakery, 446 E. High St. | Bakery
This offshoot of Kentucky Native Cafe from the owners of Michler’s Florist offers fresh breads and pastries.

Son of a Burger, 101 W. Loudoun Ave. | Burgers
Nostalgic, yet delicious, flavors await at this new burger joint. We recommend an onion ring-topped sando — although you can’t really go wrong with anything here.

Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar, 4085 Harrodsburg Rd. | Elevated Southern | Projected opening: 2026
The Asheville,NC-based staple will come to The Fountains at Palomar, serving up scratch-made Southern dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
