Where to photograph Lexington’s skyline

Lexington is world-famous for its landscape thanks to the rolling hills + horse farms that surround our quaint little city. But, as locals, we know something that most others don’t. Our downtown is pretty easy on the eyes, also.

And that got us thinking — “Where are the best spots to catch a glimpse of Lexington’s skyline?” We reached out and asked the community this same question, and got some great answers.

Eat + drink

Belle’s Cocktail House, 156 Market St. | This downtown cocktail bar features a large bourbon selection, craft cocktails + one of the best rooftop bars in the city.

Infinity: A Skybar & Café, 150 W. Main St. | Pair a quick working lunch with aerial views of the Historic Lexington Courthouse or bask in the glow of downtown’s lights over dinner.

The Lexington Farmer’s Market, 251 W. Main St. | This weekend must do was recommended by Instagram follower @stargazinhippy. Soak up the best of our city’s culture with local food, vendors, live music + more. And don’t forget to snap a picture of downtown when it’s hustling and bustling.

Bonus: Instagram followers @sophiierees + @b.arvay mentioned that Church Street and Gratz Park are two other great spots to catch a glimpse of downtown. And while it doesn’t offer a skyline view, the Courtyard Deli makes for a delicious lunch spot when you’re in the neighborhood.

Take a drive

Old Frankfort Pike | When entering Fayette County from Old Frankfort Pike, you’ll get a great view of the skyline from ~10 miles outside of town. It’s not great for pictures, but it sure is pretty to look at.

The Hilton parking garage, 369 W. Vine St. | Reddit users chimed in saying downtown parking garages like The Hilton garage offer great opportunities for skyline photos.
