Consider your Saturday plans handled, Lexington.

Truck-a-Palooza is rolling into Frederick Douglass High School this Saturday, June 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. — and it’s going to be wheely fun.

This free, family-friendly event brings Lexingtonians face-to-face with the big trucks and essential city workers that keep our community running, from cleaning sewers to picking up trash and trimming trees.

Explore over 20 vehicles (think: bucket trucks, street sweepers + dump trucks), meet the people behind the wheel, honk horns, and snap pics.

You’ll get an up-close look at trucks from departments like:

  • Waste Management
  • Streets and Roads
  • Environmental Services
  • Water Quality
  • And more

Pro tip: Prefer a quieter experience? Swing by between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. for sensory-friendly hours with no honking.

Coloring sheets will be on hand so your kiddos can thank a city worker. Plus, snacks will be available for purchase.
