Frying a Thanksgiving turkey? Us, too.

But don’t pour used cooking oil or grease down the drain — it can harm pipes, waterways, and the environment.

A better solution? Head to the 2025 Gobble Grease Toss on Friday, Nov. 28.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Lexington residents can head to Redwood Cooperative School to drop off cooking and vegetable oil in a disposable, hard-sided container with a lid.

Food scraps and motor oil will not be accepted.

If you can’t make it on the 28th, try these options:

  • Save your oil in a closed container until the next Gobble Grease Toss
  • Solidify it in the fridge or freezer and then dispose of it in the trash

Psst... Check out this Gobble Grease Toss video to see what happens with your used cooking oil. Hint: It’s either turned into biofuel or used for research through two local organizations.
