Get ready to ride, Lexington: It’s officially Bike Month.

All month long, you’re invited to celebrate biking as a fun, healthy way to get around, all while reminding our community that streets are shared spaces for all.

Join in with in-person, virtual, and self-paced events hosted by Lexington Fayette Urban County Government and community partners. Think: Free group rides, bike workshops, and neighborhood meetups for all ages.

This month’s highlight, StreetFest, takes place on Saturday, May 17 (10 a.m.-1 p.m.), when Shropshire Ave. will be closed to cars and open to bikers, skaters, walkers, and rollers.

Expect food, games, vendors, and fun while exploring what it means to have “complete streets.”

Pro tip: Stay motivated by joining Love to Ride, a free app to track rides, join challenges, and connect with other local cyclists.

Whether you’re a regular rider or just dusting off your bike, Bike Month is your time to get moving and reconnect with the community.
